Beating The Wave

When I first started wearing makeup, I quickly discovered that oily skin and tropical weather are not the best of friends. You see, silly 14-year-old me thought that a layer of foundation would beat the afternoon heat wave my home country Venezuela would experience every afternoon.

After your serum and moisturizer of choice, the number one thing we must do is protect our skin from UV exposure. I'm not a big fan of reapplying products once I'm out, since most of the time I have some kind of skin tint or foundation. So, here is my recommendation for a fast way to retouch your sunscreen.

Stay Locked-in

Light-weight, yet so powerful! This primer is a must-have in tropical weather. It is very sticky, which makes for the perfect base for your makeup to adhere to and, once you set everythign with loose powder, I can assure you: your makeup will stay in place regardless of the heat and humidity.

On The Move

This is my to-go mascara for beach days! Essence crafted the perfect formula: it gives volume to the eyelash without bringing it down. 100% waterproof, but easy to remove with an oil-based cleanser or micellar water. I have bought this mascara multiple times and it never disappoints!
